Gabrielle (Gabi) Richichi

Gabi started at Resources for the Future in Washington, DC, through a temporary placement with The Choice. She quickly stood out to their team due to her reliability, adaptability, and positive attitude.
She was recently hired full-time as an Operations Associate, where she now plays a key role supporting the team’s work on environmental, energy, and natural resource policy research. Her position blends administrative tasks, problem-solving, and day-to-day operational support, ensuring the organization runs efficiently.
In the Q&A below, Gabi shares insights about her role at RFF, how The Choice helped shape her career path, and the personal and professional growth she has experienced along the way.
What role were you placed in, and what are some of your key responsibilities?
I was first placed in the role of Interim Receptionist at an environmental non-profit, Resources for the Future, and eventually the organization hired me permanently, in the role of Operations Associate. My responsibilities as Receptionist included greeting visitors, coordinating building management on maintenance requests, ordering office supplies, and other administrative tasks. In my new and expanded role, I get to interact with all the departments in an administrative capacity, helping with scheduling, internal staff communications, fundraising activities, planning and executing events, etc. I love the variability of my role and the fact that I get to interact with all the organization’s departments.
What was your experience working with our team during the hiring process?
I had an excellent experience working with the team at The Choice during the hiring process. I only have good things to say about every person I have interacted with at The Choice – from the Recruiter to the Human Resources Operations Coordinator, to the President. Everyone has been thoughtful and supportive. It comes across that they truly care about the candidates they work with. They ask insightful questions and try to create successful matches between candidates and organizations. They are there every step of the way to ensure your success throughout the hiring process and beyond.
How has this position contributed to your personal or professional growth?
This position has allowed me to work on a variety of different projects and to liaise with all the various departments that the organization has to offer, which has helped me become a more well-rounded professional. I have learned so much from my coworkers, who are all very thoughtful and intelligent professionals who care deeply about their work and always strive to give their best.
Any career highlights or wins since starting your role that you're proud of?
My role operates “behind the scenes” at my organization, so a lot of my “wins” are just days when I am able to help the organization operate even a little bit more efficiently or smoothly. I feel rewarded when I can help an event go off without a hitch, or a meeting with external visitors happen effectively.
Would you recommend working with our firm to other job seekers? Why?
I would recommend working with The Choice to other job seekers. I have worked with a variety of recruiting firms in the past, and The Choice is by far the best one I have worked with. They genuinely care about their candidates, and they are engaged throughout the hiring process and even afterward, to make sure that things are going well for you in your position. They go above and beyond to offer support, help you prepare for interviews, and help you achieve professional development. I truly cannot say enough about how great it has been to work with them. I am very grateful for my experience.
