What role were you placed in, and what are some of your key responsibilities?
I was originally placed as a temporary project manager for the Office of Access, Success, and Impact at the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), assisting with planning for the organization’s Annual Session and Exhibition. I was later hired as a full-time contractor, and my current title is Program Manager for Faculty Engagement and Success. In this role, I support the development and management of programs designed to empower and engage faculty members across dental education.
What was your experience working with our team during the hiring process?
The hiring process was smooth and efficient! I discovered the position through LinkedIn and was invited for an interview shortly after. I had a wonderful conversation with Maggie, Director of Recruiting, who clearly outlined the role and made the process easy to navigate. Everything moved quickly, and soon enough I was starting my first day.
How has this position contributed to your personal or professional growth?
I couldn’t have asked for a better organization and team to begin my professional career in public health with. Working in the Office of Access, Success, and Impact at ADEA has taught me invaluable lessons about program development, management, and nonprofit operations. My team has also helped me grow in public speaking and leadership by providing me with opportunities that have truly strengthened my confidence and skill set.
Any career highlights or wins since starting your role that you're proud of?
One of my proudest moments was presenting my first education session, Religious Diversity in the Workplace, to the ADEA staff last year. It was an incredible opportunity to share something I am passionate about while developing my presentation and facilitation skills.
Would you recommend working with our firm to other job seekers? Why?
Absolutely! I’ve already recommended The Choice to a few family members who are just beginning their careers. The Choice team took the time to truly understand my interests and career goals. Even after I was placed, they continued to check in and ensure I felt supported in my role. I am incredibly grateful for their professionalism, care, and guidance!
